We were VERY lucky to see a Cheetah and her cubs on two different days! The first day they were too far away to see clearly..but these ones were less than 100 metres from the road!!! Amazing!
At first we saw 1 elephant and suddenly a whole herd came through and crossed the road! There were loads of young ones and a wee baby too!
Zebra..one of Kathy's favourites!
We saw crocodiles everywhere including where we were fishing. Anyone fancy water skiing?!
A male Kudu caught in action. Look at his amazing horns! We also saw two male Nyalas challenging each other.
Anybody know what this is and where its found? Its a dung beetle on rhino dung!
A herd of giraffes! So graceful!
Mark promised me cheeky monkeys everywhere! This one is at Cape Vidal, but we saw them in town as well. I saw one walk into the grocery store!
Hippo's chilling out in the water. They are WAY bigger than they look. They are known to be the most dangerous animal in South Africa. There was a stray one out for a walk in town one night grazing happily on the grass at the side of the road!
We saw SO MANY rhinos!
Along with this herd of Impala, we saw all sorts of buck including Nyala, Kudu, Waterbuck, Bushbuck, Red and Grey Duiker and Reedbuck
This doesn't look scary but we were stuck in the middle of about 70 elephants...!! We had driven down the 4x4 route and as soon as we went over a small bridge, we were surrounded...elephants in front, back and side...and NO way to reverse! We waited for a while..but they didn't get out of the way! Eventually Gideon had to inch the Landrover forward and make a break through the herd. They weren't impressed and showed their anger! Yikes...thrilling!
We were very lucky with our adventures at the game reserves. We saw sooo many animals. We also saw baboons, warthog, wildebeest, buffalo, fish eagle, guinea fowl, fish when we were snorkeling, and crabs all over the beach!
