Ethan and Rhiannon’s Big Birthday Bash!

 

We celebrated Ethan’s 4th birthday and Rhiannon’s 2nd birthday together with friends on Saturday.  Mark and I left the kids with our babysitter and headed off to the hall to decorate and set everything up.  No less than 10 minutes later, we got a phone call that Ethan had been sick all over!  Ahhhh.  We rushed home and sorted everything out.  Ethan was distressed that he might have to miss his party.  We couldn’t do that to him, so we hope we didn’t pass the sick bug on to any little or big friends.  Mark and I rushed back to the hall and just had everything ready when our first guests arrived.  The children could get their faces painted by our babysitter Sophie and her friend Grace.  They did an absolutely fantastic job!  Thanks to Anna who helped out when there was a face painting traffic jam!  They also made door hangers for their bedrooms by sticking foam stickers on a hanger which had their name already painted on it.  Next came the magician!  Tricky Micky had the little ones laughing away.  Although Ethan was sick for his whole party and didn’t play with his friends or even have cake, he did manage to laugh himself silly for the magic show.  That made the whole party worth it!  The kids all took home one of Tricky Micky’s balloon creations.  Rhiannon enjoyed the magic show but was a bit scared of going up to see Tricky Micky for the birthday girl part.  She warmed up to it near the end and managed a little wave of the magic wand. Ethan was truly sick and didn’t even get off the couch to open presents.  He asked Mommy to do it for him and then hold them up for him to see!  Poor boy.  He hasn’t even touched any of the treats in his treat bag.  Thanks to everyone for helping to tidy up the hall and load our car  when Mark had to take Ethan home early.  Thanks to everyone for joining us in our celebration and for the wonderful presents too! :)
